What You Should Listen to When You Need Good Vibes

Words, music and any kind of energy in general can affect your emotions – and your body as well.

And here is some interesting proof: Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese author and researcher discovered through experiments that energy impacts water. Emoto’s team took photographs of water crystals in different circumstances. Some photographs were of water crystals of water in bottles taped with words of good intent and bad intent. Other photographs were of water crystals of water prayed over by monks.

And yes, you guessed it – the water crystals intended with good words and energy through written words or prayer were beautiful and symmetrical, while the water crystals exposed to negative energy were deformed, asymmetrical and even blurred.

There were also photographs of water crystals taken after heavy metal music was played and after classical music was played and guess what? The photograph of the water crystals exposed to heavy metal music and the ones exposed to classical music were beautiful.

Now, what does this all have to do with you?

Do you know that your body is made up of at least three-fourths water? So every time you have a negative thought or you let someone or something get to you, imagine the gazillions of water crystals in your body collapsing and deforming. And any time you feel happy and peaceful, you can just imagine the water crystals in your body rejoicing too.

So the bottom line is choosing what you say, do and listen to. It can be as simple as listening only to music that makes you feel good and choosing more positive words in your everyday language. Music has a particularly potent effect based on other studies and evidence so you don’t want to unconsciously program yourself with negative energy. Also, try to listen only to people who have good energies – don’t give power or attention to those who put you down.

The key here is only in choosing thoughts and experiences that empower you.

Cheer Yourself Up with Inspirational Music

A different option to treat alcoholism, one that doesn't mean that a person has to humiliate themselves. They go through treatment at home.
New fish oil benefits are being found in studies everyday such as, heart health, learning disorders, neurological problems, and cholesterol.

Are you feeling a bit sad, out of sorts, or just tired? Then you might want to play some relaxing and/or inspirational music.  Music, as shown in studies and anecdotal evidence, can indeed impact the brain and the emotions. And so, with just the right music, you can go from being sad to happy and energetic in a few minutes. That’s the power of music.

It need not be many songs – it can just be one or two songs. It doesn’t even have to be strictly inspirational, just a song or two perhaps with a happy beat.

Or, if you want, you can even organize a playlist that you can go to when you get the blues. You can play the list of songs as a pick-me-up. Again, this is your call. Do you want instrumental? Do you want a song with an inspirational lyrics? Or do you just want a song with a beat that makes you want to dance?

In any case, here are some suggestions for your pick-me-up, inspirational playlist:

  • Somewhere over the Rainbow. A winner in both lyrics and music. The song is about that place beyond the rainbow where all things are wonderful. You can listen to the early version by Judy Garland or sway to a more upbeat version by Israel Kamakawiwo’Ole. And speaking of wonderful…
  • What a Wonderful World. Now this is a classic inspirational song. Also has a dreamy feel. After the song ends, you might just agree with Louis Armstrong that indeed, it is a wonderful world.
  • Hero. Now this is one powerful song. This is a great one to listen to if you are feeling powerless or victimized. The words “So when you feel that hope is gone/Look inside you and be strong/And you’ll finally see the truth /That a hero lies in you” are powerful affirmations.
  • Walking on Sunshine. Now this is one upbeat song.  It might be difficult for you to feel that it’s going to be a bad day after you hear this one.
  • When You Believe. This song is nice to listen to when you feel the odds are against you or if you are simply encountering some obstacles to your dream project or life’s work.

The Ho’oponopono as a Powerful Cleansing Tool

How would like yourself to be cleansed of negative thoughts and energy…in a few minutes or less?

This is exactly what the Ho’oponopono does. Ho’oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian cleansing practice, particularly for acceptance, forgiveness, love and gratitude. The closest meanings for Ho’oponopono would be to “set right,” to “rectify” and the like.

The practice was said to have been popularized in the Western world, particularly in personal growth circles, by Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, a clinical psychologist who believes in the power of Ho’oponopono. Most notable and celebrated about his Ho’oponopono practice is when he healed a special ward of mentally ill criminals at the Hawaii State Hospital. Before he was assigned there, the patients in the ward were violent and were not allowed to go outside. Nurses and staff dreaded being assigned to the ward during the rotation. The atmosphere there was so dismal that paint keep peeling off every time the ward was repainted.

Dr. Hew Len did not particularly talk to the patients but would regularly go over each patient’s file and practice Ho’oponopono. Eventually, when the ward was repainted, the paint stayed on, the patients became civil and were allowed to go outside, the atmosphere changed and later on the ward was shut down as patients were released and a few relocated.

And the marvel of this all is that Dr. Hew Len was not even trying to heal the patients. What he said was “I was healing the part of myself that created them.” Ho’oponopono is actually about 100% responsibility and accountability – and yes, acceptance.

The practice of Ho’oponopono is very simple and straightforward – all one has to do is say these words as much as possible:

I’m sorry

Please forgive me

I love you

Thank you

They may sound too simple, but they work.

The important thing is not to see Ho’oponopono as a quick fix – it is a constant practice of love and awareness. Miracles – and not always the one you might expect – will gradually happen. So, every time you feel sad, angry, confused, out of sorts or even happy, say these words and/or listen to the song (there are many versions in YouTube) and feel it. As a bare minimum, practice the Ho’oponopono at least once every day.

What We Get from What We Listen To

It may not be common knowledge that whatever we take in has an effect on our total being. The food we eat gives us energy to be able to do what we have to do. These foods can also damage our system whenever we don’t watch what we eat. The same way with things we listen to, they affect our systems too. The things we listen to, affect our emotions and increase our understanding, comprehension and knowledge about life.

There are so many things that we listen to. There is a variety of music that runs from pop to mellow songs. The pop music is music to the younger generations’ ears while the older group would enjoy the mellow sounds and songs that may even put them to sleep.

The things we listen to can increase our knowledge on certain things. If we try to listen to inspirational messages with background music, we will learn a lot since we would realize that life may be difficult to deal with but at the end of each difficulty we come up to be better people. Another thing in terms of songs for the very young, they get their first lessons from these songs. Imagine a toddler learning his alphabets even in the absence of a formal schooling through listening again and again to some nursery songs.

Music can do a great deal for all people in different age group. Songs can express one’s feelings for another without going to all the trouble of saying the wrong things at the wrong time and meaning it differently. Let’s take Howie Day’s “You and I Collide”, this is a perfect song to use when one would like to tell someone how much he finds their union a big blessing even if they have differences in their views. Music is truly a very effective medium of expressing one’s self.

Music to the Ears

There are some lines or sounds that when we get to hear them give us certain cheer or make our eyes sparkle. These lines and sounds are often referred to as “music to the ears.”  They do not necessarily have to be  a song, since at times a voice, the sound the new born baby makes or even the chirping sound of the birds in the morning are considered by others as “music to their ears.”

How music affects an individual often varies depending on how the listener interprets and accepts the sounds he is receiving. Others find a mellow music relaxing while others find it boring. A loud and pop music maybe enjoyed by youngsters but this type of sound or music can be annoying to the elders or to the older groups and often regard this music as noise.

Music is an art because it puts into words what is being felt and experienced. Through music we do not only find enjoyment but it serves as an escape to a very toxic life style. It gives us the time to unwind and get rid of the stress and pressures our day to day work brings even for just a little while. Music also wards off the sadness and loneliness we feel in times of grief or heartache. Furthermore music can bring us back to memory lane especially when we have particular songs that remind us of some wonderful memories.

Music serves as an imaginary canvass of something wonderful we have in mind. The lyrics and the melody convey the message we want sent across. Songs like “Home” by Michael Bubble is a nice song since you could really feel how much he misses home. Through this song you’d be thankful that you are enjoying the comforts of life in your own very home in spite of all the little negativities.

Music Warms the Heart

How often have you felt you wanted to be alone and would just like to sit back and relax? Well I myself have that feeling sometimes. I turn to listening to good and inspirational music. Songs of yester years bring back sweet memories and lifts up the spirits.

Music is a form of an art and a medium of expressing one’s feelings and sentiments.  According to Berthold Auerbach “music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” So true, since through music we express our deepest emotions. It wipes away the hurt, anger or the sadness that we feel burdened with.

We have different kinds of music that we can enjoy listening to depending on the mood we are in. There are songs about love that usually make us smile or even bring back some hurt because we somehow relate these songs to our present or past relationships. There are also songs that strengthen our faith and make us hold on to God. These songs make us realize that even how difficult life can be, there is still something we could look forward to or someone we could turn to. Furthermore there are music that soothes your nerves because of their smooth and relaxing tempo.

There are songs like “Butterfly kisses” and “Dance with my father again” that really bring you back to memories of the past and events happily shared with a dear relative most particularly a parent. Songs like “Ain’t no mountain high” somehow gives us the push to strive and fight for something or someone in spite of obstacles.

Music can be considered as part of our lives. It gives colour to a very dull living condition or a very meaningless relationship. It gives us the motivation we need to keep moving on. The lyrics are so meaningful that we seem to have zest in our lives simply by finding time to listen to songs from rock to country music to love songs and up to even religious and inspirational songs.
